He was born January 2, 1916 in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Port Charlotte 28 years ago from Massapequa, NY. Vincent was a retired carpenter for the Queens Local, NY and was a catholic and member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Port Charlotte.
Survived by his loving wife of 69yrs. Rose Mascia of Port Charlotte; Two sons, Sam wife- Carol Mascia of Jensen Beach, FL. and Anthony wife-Pat Mascia of Port Charlotte; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and 2 step grandsons 9 step great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, October 10, 2008 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a catholic wake service at 7:00 PM at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12:30 PM Saturday, October 11, 2008 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens Port Charlotte.

I will miss you. Your life was not the same since your bypass surgery. You were never sick until that time. You couldn't accept that disability. You wanted to continue helping everyone and also continue living independently keeping up with your everyday activities. You win a gold metal for trying.
I remember us driving home from Brooklyn after visiting relatives, or having wonderful thanksgivings with the Susi's at their family restaurant. I also remember what a great dancer you were. You inspired me to dance. I will never forget the good times we all had dancing our way through all the family weddings. You did not miss a beat!
You also introduced me to wine. You and Jenny! Remember wine and cream soda? May you rest in peace.

My deepest sympathy to All. I Loved Uncle Jim, my Godfather with all my heart. He has always held such a special spot in life. I will never forget his kindness and willingness to always help you. He and Dad had such a closeness that it was such a pleasure to see them together laughing and talking about the old days. My memories of Massapequa and the handiman specials that Uncle Jim worked on. The cars in the drive always needing repair & his craftmanship to repair them all. His smile when sharing one of Sons achivements. He was so very proud of you guys Sammy & Anthony. He was my second Dad and I will always cherish his memory. Aunt Rose, although you have lost your true love to God's will, You are so very Lucky to have lived wtih such a warm and loving Man for 69 years.

I lost my father, my best friend, and my teacher, who without him i would not be were i am today Horay to the days when he would say dont worry we will fix it together. And when i got stuck he would fix it and tell everybody that i did it. Gone are days when he would come to my shop and baby sit the kids when Carol and I went on vaction.
