Mr. Walter B. Angstadt, 83, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Charlotte Regional Medical Center in Punta Gorda, Florida.
Walter was born Walter Buehler Angstadt on October 3, 1925 in Frackville, Pennsylvania. A veteran of World War II, United States Army and a retired textile machinist, Walter lived in Gordonsville, Virginia until relocating to Port Charlotte, Florida in 1989. He took great pleasure in going to the Wellness Center every day with friends, and was a tireless volunteer at Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte County and an avid Golfer. He had a smile everywhere he went and was a familiar face in Charlotte County. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Punta Gorda.
Walter, a devoted husband, is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Jennifer R. Angstadt; and his beloved sons, Thomas of Eugene, OR, and Richard and Glenn, both of Kutztown, PA; one grandson, Eric Angstadt, also of Kutztown, PA; two brothers, Nathan and Clayton Angstadt, and other family members. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Louise Angstadt.
