Wayne T. Spring, 77, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital, Port Charlotte.

He was born January 8, 1937 in Lairdsville, Pennsylvania to the late George and Mary Aileen Spring. He and his wife Jean moved to Port Charlotte in 1998 from Muncy, Pennsylvania. Wayne was a retired Service Manger at an automobile dealership in Muncy. Wayne was a Mason, a Shriner and member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Port Charlotte. He enjoyed volunteering at the South Port Square whenever he could.

Survivors include his loving family, his wife of 58 years, Jean L. Spring of Port Charlotte; a daughter, Sandra Hoffman of Hughesville, PA; a son, Timothy W. Spring of Bozeman, MT; a brother, Dean Spring of Muncy, PA; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral services and interment will be held in Muncy, Pennsylvania. A Memorial services will be held 9:00AM, Thursday, June 26, 2014 at South Port Square Town Hall, 23053 Westchester Blvd. Port Charlotte, FL 33980.

Please accept my sincere condolences (to all) for Wayne's passing. As secretary of our club and an active Shriner I have known Wayne ever since I joined in 2003. I served under him when he had a "double" presidency (2 yrs) and saw the club come to life under his leadership. He was a real worker and was always in the middle of whatever needed doing, and will certainly leave a big "hole" in the club and be missed by all. I met Noble Wayne when he and others merged with the Charlotte County Shrine Club. He was active in the Araba Temple and served as President of our Club. My wife and I offer our condolances to his wife and family.

Noble Wayne and I shared leadership in Charlotte County Shrine Club. Being from the Northeast U.S gave us mutual recollections. He taught me in important ways. God rest you, Wayne Spring.
