William Eric Perfect, age 70, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away suddenly February 15, 2022, while vacationing in Florida.
Bill was born July 3,1951, in Licking County, Ohio, to the late John Carlton Perfect and Hope Sesser Perfect. Bill’s larger-than-life personality and over-the-top style made Bill, well, perfect. He was a long-time businessman and entrepreneur and served as past president of the Ohio Association of Meat Processors. Bill graduated from Johnstown-Monroe High School Class of 1969, and was a proud U.S. Army veteran, having served in the 554th Military Police Company at The United States European Command Headquarters, Patch Barracks, Stuttgart, Germany in 1971-72.
Bill lived life fully and freely and was blessed to have the companionship of his true love, Mary Jane Lauer, these past 17 years. He was proud of his more than three decades of sobriety, and he was full of pride for his children and grandchildren.
During the winters, you would most definitely find Bill proudly sporting his Chinchilla coat, funky glasses, and the snow tires on his Porsche. He was an avid skier and introduced three generations of Perfect skiers to the sport. His five grandchildren now ski with the same skill and passion he did for much of his life.
In the summers, you would easily find Bill as the life of the party on the boat docks at Alum Creek Lake and Reservoir in Delaware County. Sundays were for the couch and NASCAR, and weekdays at 4:30 p.m. were always reserved for Judge Judy, followed by Inside Edition.
His survivors include his soul mate, Mary Jane Lauer; children, Jenny (Tim) Logan, Zeb (Emily) Perfect, and Paige Ann Perfect; mothers of his children, Kimber Perfect and Sandy Ringer; brother, John Robert (Becky) Perfect; nephews and niece Zach, Tyler, Chase, and Chelsea (Liam Cattell) Perfect; sister Connie Belle Perfect; and grandchildren Brandon, Alex, and AJ Hollis, and Ethan and Eva Perfect. Also survived by Greg (Leslie) Lauer, Brian (Olivia) Lauer, and grandchildren Eva, Dillon, Alya, and Zara. Last, but certainly not least, in the list of survivors, Bill’s fur child and much-loved pup Pork Chop.
If you knew Bill, then you are most likely familiar with his parting message: “I’m so glad you got to see me.” His family and friends are indeed blessed that they got to see him.
A celebration of life will be announced by the family later. Please return to this tribute page for updated day, date, time and location for the celebration of life service for Bill.
